Sleepy Hollow High School Skunked by Battle, 3-0 Saturday, March 29th , 1952 St. Peter's Prep pitcher Ed Battle put on a show and walked away with a shutout victory, 3-0, over the Sleepy Hollow High School Horsemen, throttling them on 7 hits. He cruised through the Horsemen lineup, fanning 5 and walking 2 in a strong outing. "He was very efficient and he hit his spots," Flyers manager said after the game. "He stayed down in the zone and stayed away from the middle of the plate." On the year, Battle has compiled a 6-0 mark with a 1.79 ERA. |
