Loggers End Pothoven Streak
Sunday, March 29th , 1953
Rob Pothoven of the Houston Trade School Rapids came up empty at the plate and went hitless in 4 at-bats for the first time in 20 games. Making matters even worse for the center fielder, Houston Trade School dropped the game to the Providence High School Loggers, 16-5.

"It was not a good day today," Pothoven told the press in postgame comments. "We lost the game and the streak is over."

Currently Pothoven has 4 home runs and a .364 batting average.
