District Charter School Halts Rendon's Hitting Steak Sunday, March 29th , 1953 The Bremen Prep Cossacks lost to the District Charter School Volts, 6-3, at Cossacks Park, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of Nick Rendon's 24-game hitting streak. The shortstop went 0-for-3 on the day. "We felt if we could slow down Rendon, we would win the game," Volts manager explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down." Thus far this season, Rendon has hit .369 with 3 home runs, 18 RBIs and scored 20 times. |
