Escobar Socks It to Rapids, Cracks 5 Hits Wednesday, March 30th , 1955 Felix Escobar had an answer for everything the Houston Trade School Rapids threw at him at Rapids Stadium. The Charlotte High School second baseman went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and give the Atlantics a win, 15-7. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Escobar said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Felix Escobar singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. On the year, Escobar is hitting .354 with 28 hits, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs, .452 OBP and has scored 15 runs. |
