Martinez Blisters Bremen Prep Wednesday, March 30th , 1955 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 6 hits in a day. Luis Martinez is one of those rare few, as he went 6-for-6 against the Bremen Prep Cossacks at Sparks Park. The monster effort from the 16-year-old center fielder helped the Damien's Institute Sparks get the win, 17-2. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Cossacks manager . "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Luis Martinez singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. So far this year, Martinez is batting .391 with 4 home runs. |
