Reliever of the Year Award Goes to Hearst

At the young age of only 14, Nate Hearst has been named the North American High Schools Reliever of the Year Award winner for 1955.

The future appears bright for the Houston Trade School Rapids relief ace, who captured the award with 5 saves in 10 relief appearances, 44 strikeouts in 48 innings and a record of 3-1 to go with his 2.25 ERA.

He received 55 first place votes out of a possible 60. Aaron McNatt of the St. Peter's Prep Flyers finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Mitch Vandegrift of the Chicago High School Waves finished third.
