Best Pitcher Honor Goes to Treumov of Bremen Prep

This past season was outstanding for Lukyan Treumov. The Bremen Prep mound star sizzled with a 9-0 record and captured the prestigious 1953 IHS Pitcher of the Year Award.

The Cossacks hurler posted a 2.61 ERA in 10 starts with 60 strikeouts and 34 walks in 82.2 innings. Treumov limited opposing teams to a .259 batting average.

He received 60 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Hugues Ferri of the Rome High School Swamp Dogs finished second in voting, while Cesar Castillo of the High School of the Caribbean Dingos finished third.
