Candela Shuts Out Long Beach High School, 7-0 Tuesday, May 6th , 1952 Ismael Candela hurled nothing but zeros at the Long Beach High School Voyagers in an impressive outing at Voyagers Field. The St. Peter's Prep pitcher allowed 4 hits, fanned 4, and walked 3 in blanking Long Beach High School, 7-0. "There were a lot of frustrated guys walking back to the dugout," Long Beach High School manager said. "Not a fun day." This year, Candela has registered 3 wins and 6 losses in 9 starts with a 7.04 ERA while registering 29 strikeouts and 35 walks in 55 innings. |
