St. Pierre Prep Advances to Round 3 Thursday, May 8th , 1952 It went the distance, but the St. Pierre Prep Golden Gophers finally disposed of the Taipei High School Wingnuts 13-3 in the series clincher at Ballpark of Team 45. Winning the finale gave the Golden Gophers the series, 4-3. They will now advance to the Round 3. The Most Valuable Player Award went to St. Pierre Prep right fielder Brady Sekeres. He batted .600 in the series, collecting 4 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. "Brady deserves it," said Golden Gophers manager . "He was the glue that held our club together." The St. Pierre Prep Golden Gophers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Seoul High School Hammerheads - Havana Trade School Attack series. That series is tied at 3 games apiece. The Round 3 schedule will be announced after the Round 2 finishes. |
