Golden Gophers Move on to Round 4 Thursday, May 15th , 1952 After their 3-2 win today at Attack Stadium over the Havana Trade School Attack, the St. Pierre Prep Golden Gophers will advance to the Round 4. St. Pierre Prep won the series by a 4-1 margin. Leading the way for the Golden Gophers was starting pitcher Bobby Komarek, who had a spectacular series and was named MVP. "I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus." The St. Pierre Prep Golden Gophers will play against the Alaska Military School Bayhawks in the next round. Alaska Military School won their series against the Long Beach High School Voyagers 4 games to 1. The Round 4 schedule will be announced after the Round 3 finishes. |
