Alaska Military School Defeats St. Pierre Prep Saturday, May 24th , 1952 The Alaska Military School Bayhawks ignited a huge celebration as they beat the St. Pierre Prep Golden Gophers 7-6 to win the Round 4. Alaska Military School won the series 4-2, capturing the title for the 1st time. "We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Alaska Military School manager . "It's a great feeling." The champs finished the regular season 28-12 and claimed first place in the North American High Schools North Division. In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and third baseman Damien Leach said the Bayhawks have "great fans and they deserve this." "I am so happy for our city right now," he said. |
