Golden Bears Win North American Conference West Crown Tuesday, April 28th , 1959 The Bakersfield Institute of Technology Golden Bears are champions of the North American Conference West, but it certainly didn't come easily. "We got pushed right to the brink - we were pressured, but didn't fold," said starting pitcher David Velasquez. "Over a long season it's crazy to have a division win by a single game, but we're grateful we came out on the good end of it." The team's 29-22 has clinched the division crown, which is the franchise's 4th. The team will now be looking to capture the 1st TOBA College championship in franchise history. |
