Jan Kowalski University Loses Petrini for 7 Months
Tuesday, May 5th , 1959
Brian Petrini will have to wait a while longer. The Jan Kowalski University center fielder was informed this afternoon that he will miss another 7 months with a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. The injury has kept him off the field since 05/02/1959. Though Petrini had hoped to return soon, he has no choice but to be patient. "Gotta stay focused," he said. "Gotta stay positive."
For the year, Petrini has hit .224 with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and scored 20 runs.

The Cancun A&M Pumas are on to the Championship Series. And the club has a strong performance from Josh Rogers to thank for the League Championship Series victory.
The pitcher was instrumental in the 10-1 win over the Andre Wolfeson University Indians at Ballpark of Team 4, as he was named series MVP for his efforts.
Rogers threw 9 innings, with 10 strikeouts, while allowing 4 hits, 3 walks and 1 run.
"I just trusted my catcher and was able to execute pitches, thankfully," he said. "That's a talented team they have over there, so I wasn't taking anything for granted."
The Cancun A&M Pumas will play against the Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers in the next round. Kaohsiung University won their series against the Rome Institute Shockers. The Championship Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
