Playoff Win Vaults Kaohsiung University to Next Round Sunday, May 3rd , 1959 In what was described by the team's manager as a "thrilling night" for fans of the Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers, the club has advanced to the Championship Series, with a 6-5 win over the Rome Institute Shockers at Team 27 Grounds. "It's a great way to go in to the Championship Series, with this kind of momentum," added Hen-to Man, who went 1-for-4 in the game to earn MVP honors. "We're feeling unbeatable right now." On the other side of the ballpark, Rome Institute players forlornly packed up their belongings and said goodbye to teammates for the offseason. The Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Andre Wolfeson University Indians - Cancun A&M Pumas series. That series has not started yet. The Championship Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |
