Brest University Wins Wildcard Series Friday, April 29th , 1955 The stakes were high at Spitfires Park today as two TOBA College clubs looked to advance in the quest toward the Championship Series. In the end, the Brest University Rocketmen knocked off the Southern Melbourne University Dingos in the Wildcard Series, by a score of 6-5. After the one-game playoff win, the team will move on to the Division Series. "We never stopped believing," said Brest University catcher Marco Rojas. "All season long we expected to be going deep in the playoffs and we still feel that way. We're going to be a tough team for anyone to handle in the playoffs." Rojas went 4-for-5 in the win and took home the game MVP award. , manager of the Dingos, said he was proud of his club's efforts and said he believed that, with a few more breaks, it could have been his club advancing. The Brest University Rocketmen don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Colón University Nuggets - Pohang Institute of Technology Black Aces series. That series has not started yet. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
