Rome Institute Shockers Guaranteed Top Spot in International Conference South Tuesday, April 28th , 1959 The Rome Institute Shockers have narrowly captured the International Conference South. "You start to get nervous seeing the standings bunched up late in the season," said starting pitcher Saïd Dupont. "I'm proud of our guys for coming through." The pennant chase persisted into the final days of the season, but in the end it was the Shockers coming out on top for their 4th division crown. The club will now seek to capture the franchise's 1st Championship Series. |
