Playoff Bound: Colón University Secures Wild Card Tuesday, April 28th , 1959 The Colón University Nuggets clubhouse was filled with loud music and revelry late into the night, as the team celebrated a International Conference wild card position. The team, whose record stands at 25-26, battled throughout the year, but ultimately saw the quest for the playoffs come down to the season's final games. "I'd be lying if I said we knew we were going to make it," said starting pitcher Eddie Tinajero. "We did have confidence, but in the back of your mind you always wonder what's going to happen. There were some good teams pushing us." Now the Nuggets don't have to worry, as they are in position to potentially win the 2nd TOBA College championship in franchise history. |
