Steelers Move on to Division Series Thursday, April 30th , 1959 Eastern New York University Steelers players, coaches and personnel swarmed the field at Gems Park tonight after the club posted a 8-7 triumph over the Bakersfield Institute of Technology Golden Bears in the Wildcard Series. "We're not where we want to be yet, but any time you can survive a one-game elimination, you're feeling good," said Paul Gluzman, who had 3 hits in 3 at bats to pace his team's offence. The club will look to continue playing strong in the Division Series. "There's no reason this team can't go all the way, and everyone in this clubhouse believes that," said Gluzman. The Eastern New York University Steelers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the University of the Desert Cowboys - Cancun A&M Pumas series. That series has not started yet. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
