Alderman Holds Southern Melbourne University Scoreless
Wednesday, April 29th , 1953
It was not a good day at the plate for the Southern Melbourne University Dingos. They came up empty when it mattered against Colón University Nuggets right-hander Tom Alderman, who scattered 9 hits across 9 innings and held the Dingos scoreless.
"We had 9 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Southern Melbourne University manager said later.
Alderman chalked up 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 4-0 Nuggets win.
On his stats sheet for the year Alderman shows a 7-7 record, 15 starts, 114.2 innings, 53 strikeouts and a 4.55 ERA.
