Prairie University Moves on to Division Series Thursday, April 30th , 1953 The Prairie University Golden Gophers have done the job in advancing to the Division Series, with a 1-0 win over the University of the Desert Cowboys at Raccoons Grounds. Hideki Masuda was a big reason for the victory, as he threw 9 innings, with 5 strikeouts, while allowing 8 hits, no walks and no runs. "It was a big stage, but in the end it's still just pitching," he said. The Prairie University Golden Gophers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the North West Florida University Aligators - Redwood University Fireflies series. That series has not started yet. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
