Scarecrows Advance to League Championship Series Friday, May 1st , 1953 Loïc Delage did all he could to help guide his team into the next round of the playoffs, but it wasn't enough. Delage was named MVP in a losing cause, as the Dortmund University Scarecrows defeated his Cumana University Fighting Lions by a score of 8-6 at Team 32 Stadium. "I want to be going on to the League Championship Series and I couldn't care less about getting the MVP in a loss," he said. For their part, the Scarecrows were overjoyed to get the win despite the big performance from Delage. "Delage played great, but in the end we got the win," said Scarecrows manager . "That's all anyone is going to remember." The Dortmund University Scarecrows don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Punta Cana University Triplets - Colón University Nuggets series. That series has not started yet. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes. |
