Rocketmen Win League Championship Series Tuesday, May 3rd , 1955 The stakes were high and the Brest University Rocketmen were up to the task. Brest University advanced to the Championship Series with a 10-9 win over the Punta Cana University Triplets at Triplets Ballpark. "Our fans are no doubt excited about this one," said Sandy Duchesne, who went 4-for-5 and won game MVP honors. "We weren't ready to call it a season and losing in a one-game playoff would have been tough." Tough may be an understatement, as the Punta Cana University locker room was not open to media immediately following the game, with the manager saying his club needed some time to reflect on the season and the loss. The Brest University Rocketmen don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Boise University Wildcats - Andre Wolfeson University Indians series. That series has not started yet. The Championship Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |
