Triplets Heading to Championship Series Sunday, May 3rd , 1953 Onni Reima said he was extremely nervous before taking the mound in the League Championship Series. "How could you not be?" Reima said. "There's not much margin for error in a one-game series and that's nerve-wracking." But the Punta Cana University hurler soon settled in, and it showed. His club came out on top, with a 4-0 win at Triplets Ballpark over the Dortmund University Scarecrows, to advance to the Championship Series. "Once you get going, you sort of calm down a bit," Reima explained. "But we're still relieved to get the win, that's for sure." Reima was named MVP after throwing 8.1 innings, with 8 strikeouts, while allowing 4 hits, 3 walks and no runs. Dortmund University manager said his club was "disappointed, but not devastated" and he promised they would be back contending for another Championship Series next season. The Punta Cana University Triplets don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Prairie University Golden Gophers - Arecibo University Tarzans series. That series has not started yet. The Championship Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |
