Playoff Win Vaults Prairie University to Next Round Monday, May 4th , 1953 The seasons of the Prairie University Golden Gophers and the Arecibo University Tarzans hung in the balance, with a one-game showdown at Raccoons Grounds to decide who would play in the Championship Series. When the game came to an end, it was Prairie University making it out of the League Championship Series, with a 8-5 win, while Arecibo University players could not hide the disappointment on their faces. "Celebrating a series win is always exciting, whether it's a one-game playoff or a series that goes the distance," said Brad Beitz, who went 3-for-5 to earn game MVP honors. "The guys in the room are happy with this one." It's now on to the Championship Series, where Beitz said "expectations will still be sky-high" as the club looks to keep moving forward. The Prairie University Golden Gophers will play against the Punta Cana University Triplets in the next round. Punta Cana University won their series against the Dortmund University Scarecrows. The Championship Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes. |
