McLoughlin Grabs IC Reliever of the Year Award Thursday, May 19th , 1955 Daryl McLoughlin said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 22 years old. But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Stuttgart Military College Chameleons rising star has won the International Conference Reliever of the Year Award for 1955. He captured the award on the strength of his 1.93 ERA over 32.2 innings. He also had 9 saves in 24 relief appearances, 29 strikeouts and only 14 walks. He received 31 first place votes out of a possible 32. Jon Gonzalez of the Brest University Rocketmen finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Jai Murphy of the Southern Melbourne University Dingos finished third.
