Orange Prince A&M's van der Rijt Elbows His Way to IC Award Saturday, May 21st , 1955 The Pitcher of the Year Award for 1955 has been announced and the International Conference winner is Moses van der Rijt of the Orange Prince A&M Velocity. With a record of 9-6, van der Rijt was certainly a worthy winner. He made 15 starts and rang up 123 innings, 80 strikeouts and a 2.56 ERA. He received 32 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jon Bustos of the Monteserico University Majestics finished second in voting, while Sergio Huerta of the Cumana University Fighting Lions finished third.
