Pinet Hits for the Cycle Saturday, April 26th , 1952 Today at Team 16 Grounds, Corpus Christi A&M Dolphins second baseman Jean-Marie Pinet accomplished a true baseball rarity, knocking a single, double, triple and a home run to hit for the cycle and lead the Dolphins to a win, 17-4, over the Bismarck State University Bears. In a standout performance, Pinet laced 5 hits in 6 at-bats and had 4 runs batted in. "I felt good before the game, I felt good during it, and I feel great now," Pinet told reporters. Jean-Marie Pinet hit a two-run home run off Dan Rudan in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, tripled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. In 1952 Pinet has hit at a .266 clip with 46 hits, 8 home runs, 32 RBIs and has scored 31 times. |
