Ocean County Institute of Technology Moves on to Division Series Wednesday, April 28th , 1954 Only one team can eventually be crowned Championship Series champions and the list of candidates just shrunk by one. With a 8-5 win, the Ocean County Institute of Technology Demons eliminated the Eastern New York University Steelers in the Wildcard Series at Team 3 Stadium today. "The idea of our season being over if we lost was motivating," said first baseman Rick Shoulders, who had 3 hits in 4 at bats to lead his team to victory. "It wasn't hard to get pumped up for this one." In a brief interview after the loss, Eastern New York University manager congratulated Ocean County Institute of Technology on the win and wished the club luck in the rest of the playoffs. The Ocean County Institute of Technology Demons don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Cancun A&M Pumas - The Janison Institute Wolverines series. That series has not started yet. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
