Aligators Heading to Division Series Saturday, May 3rd , 1952 The North West Florida University Aligators are riding high after knocking off the Bakersfield Institute of Technology Golden Bears in the Wildcard Series. "We're feeling confident now and that's half the battle," said Tommy Smith, who was named series MVP. "You play confidently, you play well and it shows up with results like this." North West Florida University won the final game by a 8-4 count at Gems Park and the series 3-1. For the series, Smith hit .600 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 2 runs. The North West Florida University Aligators don't know who they will face in the next round.
