Saturday, May 3rd , 1952
The The Janison Institute Wolverines are off to the Division Series.
By a final score of 6-3 at Marshals Grounds, The Janison Institute ended the Wildcard Series and knocked out the Eastern New York University Steelers by a series score of 3-1.
"Two great teams, only one can go on and we're happy that's us," said Tuure Niiranen, who was named series MVP. "There's no easy games, no easy series in the TOBA College playoffs."
For the series, Niiranen hit .500 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 1 runs.
The The Janison Institute Wolverines don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Arecibo University Tarzans - Prairie University Golden Gophers series. That series is tied at 2 games apiece. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes.
