Wildcard Series Goes the Distance, University of the Desert Prevails Monday, May 5th , 1952 After their 4-1 win today at Dolphins Stadium over the Corpus Christi A&M Dolphins, the University of the Desert Cowboys will advance to the Division Series. University of the Desert won the series by a 3-2 margin. Leading the way for the Cowboys was center fielder Vincent Giardiola, who had a spectacular series and was named MVP. "I don't play differently in the regular season or playoffs. I just go out and do my best every game," he said. "It's certainly nice to play in the big game, but you can't let it get to your head and change your focus." The University of the Desert Cowboys will play against the North West Florida University Aligators in the next round. North West Florida University won their series against the Bakersfield Institute of Technology Golden Bears 3 games to 1. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
