Gioberti Befuddles Stuttgart Military College in 8-0 Dortmund University Win Thursday, May 8th , 1952 In a remarkable performance, Dortmund University Scarecrows starter Denis Gioberti beat the Stuttgart Military College Chameleons, 8-0, in an impressive 4-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Scarecrows hurler finished with 5 strikeouts and 4 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Stuttgart Military College manager said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was." On the year, Gioberti has worked 98 innings with 60 strikeouts en route to a 5-4 record and 5.69 ERA. |
