Swift Tosses Shutout Against The Janison Institute
Wednesday, May 14th , 1952
The The Janison Institute Wolverines manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Arecibo University Tarzans. The Wolverines were overpowered by Arecibo University starter Josh Swift, who hurled his club to victory, 8-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," said.

Over 9 innings, Swift blanked The Janison Institute on 7 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Swift said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

To date this year, Swift shows a 6-5 record, 12 starts, 83 innings, 52 strikeouts and a 4.23 ERA.
