North West Florida University Takes Division Series in Deciding Game Wednesday, May 14th , 1952 A classic and dramatic Division Series has wrapped up, with the North West Florida University Aligators outlasting the University of the Desert Cowboys to advance to the League Championship Series. North West Florida University won the final game by a score of 13-11 and took the series 4-3. "We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said North West Florida University catcher Joe Duchek, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP. Duchek hit .400 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 2 runs. The North West Florida University Aligators will play against the Arecibo University Tarzans in the next round. Arecibo University won their series against the The Janison Institute Wolverines 4 games to 3. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes. |
