NAC Reliever of the Year Award Winner Named
Tuesday, May 18th , 1954
Ryan Leo said he thinks hitters often underestimate him, as he's only 22 years old.

But he'll certainly be getting a lot more respect now, as the Jan Kowalski University Warriors rising star has won the North American Conference Reliever of the Year Award for 1954.

He captured the award on the strength of his 0.64 ERA over 28.1 innings. He also had 5 saves in 21 relief appearances, 14 strikeouts and only 10 walks.

He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 32. Alex Soto of the Bakersfield Institute of Technology Golden Bears finished second in voting, while Yui Akimoto of the North West Florida University Aligators finished third with 5 first place votes.
