The future looks extremely bright for Willie Guzman. At the age of 20, many players are still trying to find their way in TOBA College.
Guzman has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the North American Conference Most Valuable Player Award.
"I didn't expect to hit .335 this year, that's for sure," the catcher said.
The Arecibo University Tarzans star also put up a .388 on-base percentage this year, with 60 hits, 11 doubles, 2 triples, 19 home runs, 43 RBIs and 39 runs scored.
He received 12 first place votes out of a possible 32. Ray Conant of the University of the Desert Cowboys finished second in voting with 9 first place votes, while Danny Regalado of the Cancun A&M Pumas finished third with 9 first place votes.
