Dario Canalo Captures IHS Most Valuable Player Award

Dario Canalo, the talented Leonardo di Vinci High School catcher, certainly made his name known among International High Schools hurlers this season. He hammered them for 61 hits, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 14 home runs, 57 RBIs and scored 42 times. That kind of output made him the choice for International High Schools Most Valuable Player Award for 1954.
He received 60 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Chris Aiken of the Kristoph Martins Trade School Sabercats finished second in voting, while Alain Guillard of the Leonardo di Vinci High School Mets finished third.
