Kaohsiung University Moves on to Division Series Wednesday, April 29th , 1959 Zi-jun Yeh said he couldn't let his team's season come to an end while he was standing on the mound. The starting pitcher propelled his Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers to a 5-2 win over the Orange Prince A&M Velocity in the Wildcard Series at Golden Panthers Stadium and they are now off to the Division Series. "I told myself I needed to step up and that my team was counting on me," Yeh said. "When you've got all your teammates relying on you, you've got to come through in a big way." The starting pitcher certainly did come through, as he led the team to victory with 8.1 innings pitched, with 3 strikeouts, while allowing 8 hits, 3 walks and 2 runs. The Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Punta Cana University Triplets - Southern Melbourne University Dingos series. That series has not started yet. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
