Playoff Win Advances Dortmund University to Next Round Wednesday, April 29th , 1953 Dortmund University was alive with celebration tonight after the Dortmund University Scarecrows triumphed in the Wildcard Series over the Monteserico University Majestics, by a score of 6-5 at Team 25 Grounds. "Anything can happen in a one-game playoff, so you've got to feel fortunate you're going on," said center fielder Paul Mele, who led his team to victory by going 2-for-4 in the game. "We know how tough it would be to lose a game like this, so we're fortunate to be on this side of things." The Dortmund University Scarecrows don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Cumana University Fighting Lions - Hoorn University Watermen series. That series has not started yet. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
