Ethan Williams Named Premier IC Player Tuesday, May 21st , 1957 He may have less experience than most of his TOBA College peers, but that didn't slow Ethan Williams down at all in 1957. At the age of 21, the Orange Prince A&M shortstop has been named the winner of the International Conference Most Valuable Player Award. He had a .317 batting average and a .430 on-base percentage this year. In 50 games he piled up 60 hits, 13 doubles, 4 triples, 16 home runs, 46 RBIs and 45 runs scored. "I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year." He received 18 first place votes out of a possible 32. Alex Soto of the Colón University Nuggets finished second in voting with 14 first place votes, while Giel van den Hoven of the Orange Prince A&M Velocity finished third.
