Golden Panthers Advance to Division Series Sunday, May 4th , 1952 Alex Hernandez has led his Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers to a Wildcard Series victory. Kaohsiung University's left fielder was named series MVP after playing an instrumental role in winning the series 3-1 and eliminating the Colón University Nuggets. "See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "It's simple what I did this series." The club advanced to the Division Series with a 5-4 triumph at Team 30 Grounds in the deciding game. Hernandez was red hot in the series, which saw him put up a .500 average, as well as 0 home runs and 1 RBI. The Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers will play against the Cumana University Fighting Lions in the next round. Cumana University won their series against the Southern Melbourne University Dingos 3 games to 1. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
