Kaohsiung University Wins Division Series Monday, May 12th , 1952 The fans in Kaohsiung University are celebrating the Golden Panthers victory over the Cumana University Fighting Lions in the Division Series. They defeated the Cumana University Fighting Lions 7-6 in the finale played at Team 32 Stadium to capture the series 4-1. Angel Santiago was chosen the series' Most Valuable Player. The Golden Panthers right fielder batted .750, drove in 2 runs and scored 2 runs in the series. "The Fighting Lions are a good club and I don't mean any disrespect to their pitching staff, but things just felt easy this series," Santiago said. "Everything at the plate seemed right." The Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers will play against the Dortmund University Scarecrows in the next round. Dortmund University won their series against the Stuttgart Military College Chameleons 4 games to 0. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes. |
