IC Pitcher of the Year Award Goes to Pease Thursday, May 20th , 1954 It was as good as money in the bank when Brad Pease took the hill for Rome Institute. He paid his club back with interest this season with a superb 12-2 mark, collecting the International Conference Pitcher of the Year Award for 1954. The Shockers star delighted the hometown fans with a fine 2.05 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 114.1 innings. Pease surrendered 108 hits and 18 walks and limited opposing batters to a .244 batting average. He received 32 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Juan Gallego of the Punta Cana University Triplets finished second in voting, while Mario Ayala of the Hoorn University Watermen finished third.
