IC Pitcher of the Year Award Goes to Pease

It was as good as money in the bank when Brad Pease took the hill for Rome Institute. He paid his club back with interest this season with a superb 12-2 mark, collecting the International Conference Pitcher of the Year Award for 1954.

The Shockers star delighted the hometown fans with a fine 2.05 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 114.1 innings. Pease surrendered 108 hits and 18 walks and limited opposing batters to a .244 batting average.

He received 32 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Juan Gallego of the Punta Cana University Triplets finished second in voting, while Mario Ayala of the Hoorn University Watermen finished third.
