Playoff Win Vaults Kaohsiung University to Next Round Thursday, April 29th , 1954 Kaohsiung University was alive with celebration tonight after the Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers triumphed in the Wildcard Series over the Punta Cana University Triplets, by a score of 8-7 at Golden Panthers Stadium. "Anything can happen in a one-game playoff, so you've got to feel fortunate you're going on," said right fielder Ruben Chavez, who led his team to victory by going 3-for-5 in the game. "We know how tough it would be to lose a game like this, so we're fortunate to be on this side of things." The Kaohsiung University Golden Panthers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Alphonso Winters University Wildcats - Cumana University Fighting Lions series. That series has not started yet. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
